中国盛唐时期即有钟馗善捉拿魔鬼的传说。北宋时皇帝即命宫廷画师绘刻印制钟馗,以及皇帝将刻印好钟馗像在春节馈赠下属官员祝贺新年的文字记载。故此图民问亦十分流行,多贴在家园后门,以期家宅平安。The legend of Zhong Kui, who is good at catching demons, dates back to the prosperous Tang Dynasty in China. During the Northern Song Dynasty, the emperor ordered court painters to engrave Zhong Kui, and it is recorded that the emperor presented engraved Zhong Kui images to subordinate officials as New Year's gifts during the Spring Festival. Therefore, this image of Zhong Kui became very popular and was often posted on the back doors of homes to ensure household safety.
